Kelvin Yap Jun Liang Accident, Obituary: Balestier Khalsa Football Club Former Player, Dies

Balestier Khalsa Football Club is deeply saddened to announce the tragic passing of one of our young and promising former players, Kelvin Yap Jun Liang. The news of his death has left the entire club community in mourning, as we reflect on the loss of a talented individual who had grown through our youth ranks and represented the club with pride and dedication.

Kelvin was an integral part of Balestier Khalsa’s youth development system. He joined our Under-15 team in 2022 and progressed to the Under-17 squad in 2023, demonstrating significant growth, commitment, and a deep passion for the game. In 2024, he earned a place in the Under-21 team, playing as a midfielder from 1 February to 31 December. His time with us was marked by his strong work ethic, humility, and team spirit, qualities that endeared him to coaches, teammates, and staff alike.

Though his football journey with Balestier Khalsa may have ended too soon, Kelvin’s impact and legacy will be long remembered. On and off the pitch, he was a well-liked and respected figure, known for his discipline, kindness, and determination. He embodied the values we uphold at the club and served as a role model for many of his peers.

The club, along with the local football community, feels a profound sense of loss. Kelvin’s dedication to the sport and his potential for the future made him a valued member of our football family. His untimely passing is a heartbreaking reminder of the fragility of life.
